3.27 Because of the Rabbit
Good morning and happy Friday!
Think of today as a catchup day, look back at the weekly contract and try something you haven't done yet this week.
-Take time to practice your multiplication facts in IXL, or Multiplication.com . If you've practiced your multiplication facts this week try some fraction practice W. 7, 8, 9 and 10.

Because of the Rabbit Day 7
Two Truths and a Lie / Mrs. Forsyth
I like staying up late.

I saw a bear when hiking in the mountains.

Writing topics: Write an opinion speech:
Do you like fruits or vegetables? (This idea came from Robert) :)
Do you like fall or spring?
Do you like sand or snow?
1. State your thesis statement: Fruits are awesome, they are healthy and taste sweet!
2. Give 2-3 reasons and examples:

Rabbits are Naturally Curious. Once comfortable with their nearby environment, they'll want to explore beyond it.
2. Choose a character trait for Jack and give me two to three reasons why you chose this trait. Give evidence from the text. You can use my read aloud video to go back and listen to find evidence.

Two Truths and a Lie 3.24
This morning we heard Ms. Hutton, Emma's fifth grade teacher play the game "Two Truths and a Lie." See if you can guess which one of these statements is a lie.
Mrs. Forsyth:
I like to eat beets.
Our family likes to vacation in New Hampshire.
My favorite color is yellow.
Optional Writing topics:
1. Tell a story about a time when you were younger.
Here is a photo of Jack and Avery on my dad's tractor.
2. Tell a story about your last birthday. Feel free to send a photo along with your story.
Write about a small moment, and include dialogue in your story. Here is an example of how to punctuate dialogue.
"I can't believe you're here!" Shonna said. "Who's your teacher?"
"Ms. Hutton."
Edit your work:
1. Re-read your story
2. Check for capitalization and punctuation
3. Spelling: Circle words that don't look correct and try spelling the word 3 times

First Day of Spring!
