A Window into Our Classroom

Thank you, families, for reminding your child to bring to school:

IPad and case, headphones, extra masks, and remote packets.

We're establishing a routine, and I hope that students will become more independent with these tasks.

Learning Targets for the week include:

Reading-
I can identify the parts of a story.
I can study my reading patterns and set goals for myself.

Writing-
I can write narrative stories about special people and places.
I can include dialogue in my narrative story.

Math-
I can round to the nearest ten and hundred.
I can tell time to the nearest minute.
I can calculate elapsed time using a number line.

Social-Emotional Learning-
I can have a growth mindset when learning new things.

Allied arts:
-Remind your child to visit Mrs. Johnston's google classroom for art assignments.
-This was our last week of gym class.  Next week we'll begin music for a few weeks.

Students wrote secret
notes to their seatmates... 😁

Recording book recommendations,
writing true stories and recess...

🌻Take home a little bit of the Pond Cove Playground to plant in your garden this spring!

Stop by the Thomas Memorial Library for curbside pick-up of a fun seed collection kit! Kits have four types of dried flowers from the playground and seed envelopes to decorate and store the seeds until spring. Find out what to do in this how-to video from the Playground Committee! Kits will be available starting Tuesday 10/6 for about a week, or as long as supplies last.

Did you know you can request books on the books📚Thomas Memorial Library website using your library card number and make an appointment to pick them up curbside? You can even ask for the librarian to choose a personalized book bundle for you if you aren't sure what titles you want. Grab lots of at-home entertainment all at once!
